    9 foot sheets of drywall
Do they make drywall in 9 foot lengths for walls with a 9 foot ceiling?

I've never seen it around here (central OH).

Further, drywall is more typically installed horizontally rather than vertically. Here is a thread with some ideas to consider:

They make drywall in 8 foot and 12 foot
If you are doing a room that is 9 feet tall make yourself very happy and buy 12 foot material and cut it. In residential construction they do what is called railroading sheetrock they install it horizontally meaning they lay it down. This makes it much harder to finish and requires much more sanding.

In commercial construction they stand it up that way there is only vertical seams and much less to finish. The seams are much easier to hide if you stand it up. If you railroad it you will have to finish both vertical and horizontal seams and butt joints much harder to hide. Draw it out on paper a 9 foot ceiling will require three pieces of sheetrock 2 horizontal seams and two butt joints. If you stand it up you will have two vertical seams and factory edge to work with which is designed for that.

As RickJ says, hang the walls along the ceiling horizontally. The top course supports the ceiling sheetrock without needing to nail the edges. This way the factory tapered edges butt together and allow using the mud bazooka to lay an even bellyband around the room. Hanging vertical is outdated and causes wavy walls. Should be able to shine a flashlight or laser along wall to show professional job. No 9 foot rock available that I know of on the West Coast.

Actually you CAN get 9' rock, but you must order it from a specialty supplier, like Rew Materials. You cannot get it from big box home stores.
