Hampton Bay 3 speed ceiling fan
The fan switch was smashed inside the encasement, so when I took the switch out, none of the four wires were attached to the switch. There are four wires for the fan 3 speed switch.
The colors are orange, yellow, purple and black. There are L, 1, 2, and 3, written on the switch. I tried L-orange, 1-black, 2-yellow and 3-purple. The fan will shut-off and go on high speed only. I tried 1-yellow, 2-orange, 3-black and L-purple. The fan will go on high speed and medium speed only and not shut off. I have no idea what conclusion I can make from these combinations. So I'm totally confused. Any suggestions? Thank you.
