Help in stopping a hydrant from squirting water out the top.
I have a freeze prove hydrant that shuts off great but when turned on water squirts out the top. Is there a rubber ring or something that holds the water in the pipe ?

I would assume that the hydrant would have a bonnet nut around the stem. Tighten about 1/2 turn. I am assuming that by "out the top" you mean around the stem.

    Hi guys...

Actually, I'm going to bet that Howabout7 is talking about a leaking VACUUM BREAKER on the top of the anti.-freeze faucet (see images).

If you are talking about a vacuum breaker then you could try to find an exact match to the faucet and see if the vacuum breaker can be removed, or if you give a quick call to the manufacturer they can tell you if they sell a vacuum breaker repair kit.

If it gets to be a real hassle finding a replacement part then it may be easier just to replace the entire unit... up to you.

    Good luck!

You could be right Mark. Thought I post a pic of a hydrant so Howabout7 could confirm

I have a Maytag washing machine that is 8 years old. It's worked just fine until recently. Halfway during the spin cycle, when the motor really "revs up", water squirts from the drain hose where it connects to the standpipe in the wall. An appliance repair person over the phone told me that it...
