There can be several reasons for him to experience erectile problems. Some of the more common ones are being tired, stress, distracted, medications, health concerns, fear of pregnancy, self-medication, pressure to perform, etc.

Since you have a newborn baby, stress, exhaustion, and being distracted are probably very high on the list. Pressure may be a big factor too (not just from you but from himself).

If it has only been a week, take the pressure off, relax and enjoy just spending some quiet time together (intimacy and affection do have to equal sex) for a few days before trying again. Discuss what you can do to limit any stress or distractions. Be honest with each other about any concerns about another pregnancy and birth control. Don't become fixated on it happening again. However, if it continues to be a problem, he might need a check up to make certain he is healthy.
