As your only 12 and in your profile state your already slim, perhaps taking up a sport to keep active and healthy would suit you better.

Your still growing and you will get taller, stay active, eat healthy and you will be fine.

    Right, walking, jogging, staying active.

You also pretty much have the shape you were born with. You can refine it - but some things you can only tone, not change.

You're young. Start forming good habits now. You want to be in a singing/dancing band with your friends, so why not take up dancing?

Any and all physical activities and sports that interest you should be your first priority (over internet and television), the healthy body will follow.

Fast pace walking slims the legs when practiced regularly. Also rope-jumping I find helpful

I can understand how you are feeling because I felt the same way when I was your age. I walked at a brisk pace for about a half hour and built it up day by day so later on it was up to an hour. Start with your comfort level (be it 5 min, 10 min.. and then gradually build it up. Think of something you like to do physically (dancing, playing a team sport (it doesn't have to be a school team), swimming or martial arts). Now if you have any medical conditions, make sure you check with your doctor first before doing any of this. That way, you won't even realize you're working out. Another component is eating balanced meals w/ veggies, fruits, meats, and carbs. It is your fuel. Starving will not help you because your body stores the fat when it feels like it's starving. It's like asking a car to run without gas. You're young... explore your talents! :-)
