John Deere L110
I have a John Deere L110 with a Kohler 17.5 command motor. When I go to start it I cannot get it to start. I checked the fuel pump and it seems OK and checked for gtas at the carb and it seems OK. If I pour gas into the carb from the air breather it will start but soon dies I have a wire running into the bottom of the carb into what looks like a solenoid maybe. What should I do to check this out and fix it?

A stick broke two of the plastic fan blades on the fan that sits on top of the trans axle. The grand kids were using the mower for a dune buggy. Anyhow I think its called a trans axle this is causing the belt that rides on the fan pulley, to vibrate quite bad. I want to replace the fan. Any advise...
