    I was arrested for theft because of something my friends did
    But when I got to court the judge dismissed my case because they let him know I didn't have anything to do with it. But now I can't get another job because the arrest is still on my record What can I do

    And what record,

    Your official police record in the US only show convictions not arrest. Now there are dozens if not 100s of private search companies that may gain and keep all sort of info, there was a news article today about one that keeps records of even things you post on face book or any public web site
