I am trying to understand the information I've found on an inmate search for the IL DOC. The inmate is currently in prison for "theft stolen intent pers <$300" and "forgery/issue/deliver document" I understand this means he stole something but does anyone know more specifics about the charges? There is also an aggravated battery and a "carry/possess firearm/2nd&subq" from a few years back but those both "Sentence Discharged Yes" Anyone know anything more about those charges? And does the sentence discharge mean he wasn't charged or wasn't convicted or something else?

If you know the county where he was convicted in you could search their docket and see what you come up with on the presently incarcerated charges.

As for the senence discharge it means that he was released from jail/prison. He was convicte or he would not have had a sentence imposed.

Yes the discharged mean he served his time for that, and/or it may have been discharged ( still guilty) but as part of a plea for the other charges.

Sounds like perhaps ID theft to me but charges often cover a wide range of crimes.

Example in Georgia, criminal tresspass is of course tresspassing but also theft under 500 dollars.
