    Cramping during pregnancy
I am about 18 weeks pregnant and I started cramping about a week ago.. I knew that it was normal to cramp mildly due to the baby growing but last night I started cramping very bad. I tried to lay on my left side with a pillow between my legs and this morning I feel horrible. I'm not sure if I should go into the ER since it is Saturday and every clinic is now closed. Also my first baby is 7 months so as you know I got pregnant close to each other.. I just didn't know if that would have anything to do with it..

ARe you drinking large amounts of water and staying cool? This is very important. Try taking some tylenol and warm baths as well.

It sounds very much like what is called round ligament pain. I recommend my patients in the summer to drink up to a gallon of water a day and stay out of the heat.

Remember too that this is your second pregnancy. You are going to feel a lot more cramping and have a bit more pain than you did with your first child.

As long as there is no bright red bleeding, you should be fine.
