I was on Depo for one year, and was told before the shot that it would take about 3 months to start menstruation/ovulation. I was due for my last shot in mid December of 2010 it is now mid July 2011. I have spotted twice since then but only for 2-3 days both times. The spotting was brownish but not dark or heavy, not obvious every time I checked. There was cramping as usual, like a normal period. I started testing for pregnancy and am not pregnant. My husband and I are really hoping to start a family soon but we are starting to get discouraged. I called Planned Parent Hood but the advice nurse is never there, and I have not heard back for a week. I've checked all over the internet but there does not seem to be anything about not having periods at all, just about not getting pregnant.
