    Attorney help
What type of attorney would represent me to collect a debt owed to me by an individual? And would I file in the state I live in or the person that owes me money?

First things first... have you been awarded a judgement in court yet?

Winning a judgement and collecting a debt are two separate actions. The latter being far more difficult to actually do.

Assuming you already have won... best bet is getting a writ of garnishment issued against assets that can be garnished. That is far more difficult than it seems because YOU have to find the assets first.

Answer some of these points and we can better understand at what point of the process you are currently at. Also what state and country as what can and can't be done and the processes involved vary greatly. Some of these steps do not require a lawyer but a private investigator.
