My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for the last few months. I have been off the pill for almost 2 years now and have had very heavy periods. Started using an app on my phone to keep track of my periods and it also calculates ovulation. Tried going by it the last couple of months but nothing so this month I decided to try an ovulation predictor kit. Well, today was my 6th day of testing and still no positive test. Also I have been spotting ever since we started trying, so the last few months. At lease once a month I have heavy bright red spotting that lasts a day or 2 then the other times, which seems to be after intercourse, is brownish. My periods last 7 days normally and are right on schedule. I have also done pregnancy tests and the have been negative. My concern is that I am spotting and that I haven't gotten a positive test yet. Should I buy another and test for 7 more days? Confused and frustrated!

You have only been trying for a few months. To be brutally honest, it can take the average healthy couple a year or longer of actively trying to conceive.

Make sure you are taking a prenatal vitamin. It' might be good to visit an OB/GYN for a complete hormonal workup.
