My 5mth old puppy was diagnosed with parvo 3 days ago, we took her to the vet and they sent us home with an I've, antibiotics and antinausea meds.. I feel like she getting worse her symptoms are changing and I don't feel like she is getting any better.. I have called over 30 different vets to get different opinions on what to do and they all say about the same thing to continue doing what I'm doing and giver her a lot of TLC.. I have been on the internet searching different ways of helping her and I came across parvaid and I wondering if that will help her.. she is my baby and I love her and will do whatever it takes to make her better..

I'm so very sorry that you're going through this. Parvo is a horrible disease.

The only thing you can do is follow your vets advice and hope for the best. Your vet really is doing all he/she can. There's no magic cure and this disease is highly fatal.

I've never heard of parvaid. I would discuss this with your vet before trying it. The internet is not a reliable source, your vet knows best. Just to hammer this home, I once did a search for home remedies for parvo. One person, claiming to be a vet, said to give the dog a gallon of bleach. Obviously this information is horrible, and would kill the dog. Yes, it would also kill the parvo, but the goal is to kill the parvo and keep the dog alive.

That's just an example of the misinformation you can get from the internet, so I'd be very weary to take anything you find via the internet to heart.

Talk to your vet about this. That's your best bet.

I hope that it all works out and that she survives this horrible disease. You're doing all you can, know that, and continue following your vets recommendations. :)

Do you really want advice on parvaid? I have to ask because of your advice in another thread posted before you asked this question.

I sincerely hope your puppy pulls through. Please, as Alty said talk to your vet.

YES! GET THE PARVAID! It will help because it soothes the digestive system and will actually fight the virus itself. Also, it has a 90% survival rate so go for it. Its saved many of my friend's dogs.

Then why aren't vets using it?

A lot of them are. On top of that if vets refuse to take a CPV pup they will often recommend the Parvaid. That's how I found out about it and its happened to some friends of mine as well which is why I'm pretty adamant about it.

I have heard of parvaid. It has a very high success rate with parvo puppies, however it is not cheap. It is $50 or more per vial plus shipping.

Treating parvo is basically treating the symptoms, such as vomiting and diarrhea. Keeping her hydrated with the meds your doc prescribed is going to cure her. Changing medications against doctors orders may make things worse.

I would advise to stick with the first doctor. He has seen your dog and gave the treatment that is best for your dog. If you have concerns, you need to go back to the original doctor and get more medicine and Advise. Changing doctors in mid treatment leads to double dosing and frustration for you and the 20 new doctors you're consulting with.
