Rules for cash aid in los angeles?
    Greetings:

My sister is an unemplyed single mother of two daughters (11 and 16). My family has been supporting her. She now lives in L.A. County and currently receives court-ordered $1,300 per month from her ex husband ($400 for each kid and $500 for her). She qualified for MediCal and EBT but claims that she does not qualify for cash aid because of the court-ordered support. I have a hard time believing this and am left wondering if she didn't want to bother with the application process for cash aid.

    Thank you in advance,

    Gregg

So she makes about min wage from support, free medical coverage and food stamps ?

If the 1300 puts her over the limit to receive that welfare. It depends on many factors.

So how are you supporting her ? Watching the kids while she goes look for a job

Thanks Chuck. Her expenses are about $5,000 per month. My parents and I each give her $2,500 per month to get by. That nonsense is about to end and my parents are demanding that the three of them move into their home. Expenses will go down dramatically.
