How do I deal with mean kids in school?
So my ex boyfriend and I are still really close friends, but everyone at my junior high school thinks we still like each other as more than friends and we are going to get back together. This is not the case though, we are very close friends and we have agreed not to be any more than friends because it would ruin our friendship. So, kids at my school are cruel. First of all, you should know that I am a bit darker skin colored. I am actually white, but for some reason, I am very very tan. Kids think I am asian. They make fun of me for it. Not to my face. But they tease my ex about it all the time. They call him John Lennon (because of Lennon's wife). They come up to him and say things like "Hey, I hear you have a thing for asians." and "why did you go out with her, she looks like an asian depressed camel, you could do so much better!" and "she looks like a dying deer, you can do a whole lot better than an asian!" When I hear them say these things, it really hurts. I can't walk the halls anymore without feeling their eyes on me, watching me, judging me. I know they all think I am ugly and they are convinced I'm either asian, indian, mexican, brazillian or something. But I am acutally white. I try not to let it get to me, but sometimes I just can't take it. It really hurts, and I don't know what to do. Please, any suggestions? Thank you.

Ignore them! I know its easier said than done but in time, when you leave school or get older your skin colour will be something that makes you stand out from the crowd and that's a good thing.

I personally think tanned skin is beautiful, I call it "the exotic look" and I know a lot of people admire such defining features, you friends will envy you for it and that's probably what your classmates problem is now, jealousy!

I would love to have a natural tan, no more fake tans :D so show that beautiful skin off (not too much!) and be proud to be different.

Hey I will let you in on a little secret (not a secret anymore) I have scars all over my belly and back, growing up was very difficult but its something I have that no body else has, I put up with the bullying but its made me who I am today and I used to want to change them but being honest, I wouldn't even bother changing them now if I could. They don't bother me anymore, I'm happy! You will see... ;)

Asian men and women are beautiful people, so be proud of your "tan" and your exotic look. Modeling agencies are always on the lookout for it.

If someone teases you, turn it back on them by making a joke of it. Yeah, I know -- that won't be easy, but give it a try. If they call you an Asian depressed camel (in the Gobi Desert?? ), make snorting noises and say how thirsty you are. Laugh meanwhile. Once the kids start laughing WITH you, they'll stop laughing AT you.
