Yes, your probation officer has the authority to discqualify you from visiting another state. You should have thought about your options, while knowing she wa pregnant and repercussions. You will have to make up some excuse or go and be in contempt of court whch will not be good for your present condition.

It depends on the terms of your probation. But its is possible, even probable that your PO can control your travel out if state.

Have you talked to your PO about it?

You have to get the PO permission to travel out of state. What is the reason the PO is going to refuse your travel

    Hello loco:

From what I can ascertain from your post, is that your PO is NOT refusing to let you go, but wants to confirm WHERE you'll be staying, and you don't want him to do that..

But, of course, he CAN verify where you'll be staying, and if you don't let him, he can refuse to let you go.

You give the PO the name, address and phone number of where you'll be staying and from when to when out of state.. You don't just get a "free to stay as long as I like" type thing either. If you say you will be gone 2 weeks you must return regardless if she has had the baby or not. You need written permission to go out of the state.

Did you ask in person or did you just ask over the phone?

    Good catch excon,

Yes, you have to provide them where you will be going and they may ( normally will) want proof of the reason,

So they will most likely wish to contact where you will be at.

Don't go over your PO's head. Remember you committed the crime and now have to pay for it. You are best staying on your PO's good side so you ask him what you have to do.
