Cramps after intercourse
My boyfriend and I had sex two days ago and almost immediately after I began to experience mild cramping in my lower stomach. I just had a normal period before during this same week. I'm wondering what this could be from and what I should do...

Typically, cramping like this is caused by uterine contrations. Manipulation of the cervix by the penis during intercourse causes a surge in the hormone called oxytocin. Oxytocin is the hormone that causes pregnant women to go into labor. When a woman goes into labor her uterus contracts.
The only difference here is that you are not pregnant. Most women rarely notice this type of cramping, but it is very common and quite normal.

Thanks

Typically only for a few minutes, but can be as long as an hour.

That's too long to be caused by intercourse alone. Apparently there is something else going on. Are you anywhere near your period?
Also, if you wouldn't mind, please don't use the "comments" feature, it can be hard for us to respond to at times, and it limits the amout of characters you can type. If you would, please, scroll down to the Answer box below to respond. This way you can provide much more detailed information if necessary. Thank you! ;)

Oh sorry, No I just had my period this past week starting like Sunday. I take Yaz and it regulates my period to like 5 days. This is kind of weird but I don't know if it means anything that until today I also had not had a bowel movement for two days. But the cramps are steady and don't go away at all

Also I drove for six hours over the last two days and could feel my body tense up a lot because I am not used to big city driving. I don't know if any of this helps but I just really want an answer

It may very well have to do with your lack of bowel movements.

Hun, it's not necessary to post your question multiple times. We all can see all questions and everyone has the ability to answer if they are online. You see, we are all volunteers here and take time out of our day to help others.
Now, as you mentioned in your other post (that has been deleted), a bladder infection is absolutely a possibility. However, we lack the ability to diagnose via the internet because we can't do the necessary lab work. If this continues I suggest you seek medical attention.
