Yup, it's fake. Ghana is home to one of the world's largest online dating scams. Hope you haven't sent any money.

And if she says she paid over 300 US dollars for passport and visa, she is lying. Now if you have not sent her any money and if she is not asking for any money and coming to the US on her own. Then it may be real, But if she has asked for any money, it is most likely fake,

But heck it may be real, that does not mean it is hers or if it is, does not mean she is your girlfriend or coming to see you. They have large offices full of people at computers and phones that do nothing all day but get on dating and chat sites and tell people how much they love them and so on. In fact the person you chat with on Mon may not be the same person as Fri, since these people just work this as a job. But they keep a file on you and use ready made "letters" that are known to help get money
