I recently purchased a painting of 2 women sitting outside at what looks like a café table (has cup on table, checkered tablecloth).

Background shows a boat in the water---woman on left seems to have expression on her face like
she was daydreaming. The other woman seems to express maybe she is waiting for someone to
return home?

What is puzzling to me is the signature on the bottom left of painting--printed GEORGE.X 1017 (if I am reading
those numbers correctly) I cannot come up with any info on that George.X Can someone help me out?
