My biological dad is trying to blackmail my mum to get his child support money back
I am 14 years old soon to be 15 and have recently (the past week) gotten in contact with him he is now trying to blackmail my mother and step father into paying back all the child support he's paid i checked and despite his claims that he doesn't have to, he still does... what can i do?? I want my step dad to adopt me because he has been a better father in the past 5 years then my real dad has been for the past almost 15 years of my life. He has never tried contacting me and even while talking to my mother the past week i keep being told he's not there and he's always working despite him talking to my mother at the exact time im told he's at work.

Your bio father cannot get the child support money back because it was awarded to your mother legally through the court. No matter what reason he is using for blackmailing, which is a Federal offence, he must be reported.

First, please don't type in all caps its considered shouting.

How is he trying to blackmail your mom? By withholding his consent to allow the adoption? If so, tell your mom to turn the tables. If he doesn't allow the adoption then he will have to pay support for 3 or more years. If he does allow it support ends with the adoption.

First of all, this is the responsibility of the 3 adults involved, not yours.
Second, it would be foolish to fall for blackmail over this.
What is the reason in your mind? That your bio father didn't have to pay support, and he's due it all back? I doubt that you have the correct answer to that. There are several variables involved.

We need to know where you live, if the support was ordered by a court, and what you think is the reason it could all be due back.

If you are adopted by your stepfather, it will cease. Your bio father would have to sign papers allowing the adoption. Perhaps it's more of a ransom he wants, which is not uncommon.
