His hygiene practise is horrifying...
Through the years there appears to be no tactful way in asking my partner (53) to thoroughly and consistently wash his hands after his routine number two emissions (Let alone the debate on washing his hands after number one.) Thankfully he doesn't prepare any food in the house. Thankfully we're not third world etc.
Because of my present illness I am more conscious and sensitive of my/his hygiene practice, which bought me to raise the question again after visiting my Doctor this week.
This apparently resulted in a defensive attack with yelling and shameless refusal to do any of the suggested practices. Quote: that's something you tell a five year old!. and you can forget about that!
Least to say, I was horrified with his attitude as I don't stand over him, although I do know his routine, the smell of our own soap when it's used and the tap thread leaks when it's been turned on and NO, he hasn't taken to washing his hands outside with the garden hose.)
To top this issue off, he's started to use less soap or more soap depending on the mishaps in the toilet. What a genius!
PLEASE HELP

So don't be tactful, be demanding, hand signs like in stores, don't feed him if he does not wash or more

If he says that you're treating him like a five year old, tell him to stop acting like one and you'll stop.
Washing your hands after using the bathroom isn't and shouldn't be an option for anyone. That's just gross, and a 53 year old man should know better. Heck, my kids know better, and have since they were 2 years old.
I'm passive aggressive, so my suggestion probably isn't the best. Personally, what I'd do is take him by the hand after every visit to the bathroom, turn on the sink, put his hands under the sink, lather him up, and explain step by step how to wash his hands. He'll get upset, he'll say that you're treating him like a child, but the fact is, if he's going to act like one, then how else can you treat him?
Either that or explain that your health is at risk, and that every other civilized person in the world washes the pee and poo off their hands after using the bathroom, and that you are hoping he loves you enough to become civilized.

Y*&K!
Assuming that you love the guy and want to be with him,I support Altenweg's suggestion.
For me,this would have been a dealbreaker-from day one.

Hi Fr Chuck; His brain is like a computer – you have to punch the information in for a little less tact… :)

Hi Altenweg; hoping he becomes 'civilized' is the operative key solution. THX
