    New born kitten care
Hi everyone, I hope some of you out there can help me out with this.
My cat Kida just gave birth to 4 precious little kittens.
Unfortunately I was not home at the time & so she had them at the neighbours house.
Now Kida had a few fleas on her before the birth, I was using a flea comb but it wasn't doing as well as a flea treatment.

When I was checking the kittens this morning, they all seemed to have a few fleas on them, i've been trying to keep the area as flea free as possible for the last 2 weeks just in case but they may have bought some back from the neighbours.

My question is, is it okay to use some thing like Spot On on the kittens?

Don't use any chemical products on a kitten unless it's specifically intended for kittens (the same is true for puppies, incidentally). It'll say clearly on the labels if it is. Pretty much any place that sells pet supplies will have stuff that's suitable for kittens.

Buy a flea shampoo for Kittens and give them all gentle "baths". By baths, I mean you take very very little shampoo and put it on them, and wash off. I would do this in a bathroom sink or something. That way, they would have no more fleas. Also, has Kida ever had kittens before? And, is the father around these kittens? If the father is around, get him away from the kittens. I had the father around the newborn kittens and one day... well.. there is no easy to say this, but there was only 2 kittens left. He ate the others because they weren't strong enough.

Thanks for the advice ashley :)
This is Kida's first litter, I wanted her to at least have one litter before I got her fixed.
And yes the father is around, well one of the fathers anyway. But he doesn't pay them any attention & usually ignores them. But I will keep an eye out so thanks for the heads up :D
