Computer restarts on heavy task
Hello,
I'm having troubles rendering from 3d software with my PC.
Every time I render it crashes and restart.
This computer is really powerful and should be able to render the tasks, as I'm quite sure I didn't have the problem before. It use to work fine in the past.
I have another computer, very less performant, on which the renders go well...
I think its either the GPU or CPU... but I don't know... that could be an OS or software conflict... how to know??
I have 12gb of memory that could not be a RAM issue I guess.
Also the temperature is fine, only one of the cpu cores is up to 63°C.
More about this, I've uncheck the "automatically restart computer" on problem... but it still give me a black screen,
So I can't have any report to what's going on.
I use that computer for work, I need a quick solution.
Please help guys !

I do not know What kind of computer you have; you just said its very powerful. I am not assuming anything but everyone who has computer problems is a common test. Simple Test: cut all electrical power
To your computer wait 30 seconds turn all electrical power back on press the on button and your computer
Should give you a rush sound.

Okay, but I don't see how this 'test' can help the OP, I mean... what happens if the test fails? What does it mean? What can be done? etc.

It sounds like a classic overheating problem. Make sure all your fans are working properly and that the processor's cooling system is configured properly.

Hi guys ! Thanks for reply... I figured this is an overwarming problem, even though the cpu don't go above 63 degres... This means I have to buy a water cooling system, or anything sufficient to cool down the problem

If all fans have been checked and are working then sometimes it's just a matter of reseating the CPU fan if it's loose and/or removing and re-applying thermal grease.

Thanks but the computer has less than a year... Its surely an overheating problem... I had to buy more fans or water cooling system.

The problem is, watercooling is too expensive, and CPU cooling fans are 120 mm, and I only have 90mm spot... so I have to buy a new case, remount everything et pay for those cooling fans, while my actual computer restarts only above 63°C... My other computer is overwarming too, but this one doesn't restart !
