    Married in US, divorced in Japan. Is the Japanese divorce recognized in US?
    My son was married in the U.S. to a Japanese citizen. They never lived in the U.S. only Japan. They were divorced in Japan. Is that Japaneze divorce valid and recognized in the U.S.

    Yes, that divorce decree granted in Japan would be recognized in any country if signed by a Judge and properly recorded.

    Yes, it is a valid divorce and would be accepted. Is there a issue that he is having ?
