    Kenmore Electric Dryer not heating
I have a Kenmore 80 Series electric dryer that doesn't heat up. Everything else works but the heat. I have:
    . Replaced both thermostats
    . Replaced the Heating element
    . Cleaned the duct
. Cleaned the inside of the dryer
    . Reset the 220 fuse

    Still no heat! Any ideas?

It could be a blown thermal fuse (if so look for any venting restrictions), bad timer, or where the cord connects to the back of the dryer look for any burned wires.

Could also be the dryer motor centrifical end switch. You will need a wiring diagram for your unit to see which wires are the hot legs for the electric heat element. The dryer end switch acts as a safety device where as it only will allow the electric to pass through to the heater circuit if the motor is spinning. The motor can spin and turn the drum BUT if the centrifical end switch does not close to make contact the heater will not come on.

Wildbill, for this repair you will need a volt/ohm meter and know how to use it? Check as the others suggested.

Buy a volt/ohm meter and learn to use it. Were the t-stats you replaced bad? You may have missed the thermal limiter located behind the drum. Also, voltage has to get into circuit from timer. You have to trace it out in order to find the problem. Just changing parts is the worst way to fix something. DrTom4444
