Me and my best friend were talking about exchnging gifts because it was the end of the year. She got me a golf set and my classmates were really jealous of me. I thought I would give her a gift to so I gave her 2 packs of silly bands. She told me we would give 5 gifts for each other and I know my mom wouldn't allow that and I promised her the gifts. We were supposed to give the gifts at the last day of school. I didn't come because we weren't really doing anything at school and we were just like, 10 at class. The day after that my best friends called me and asked my why I didn't come to school. I told her that my mum said I shouldn't really come because we were not doing anything. Now she told me that I should come to her house tomorrow and hang out and we would exchange our gifts there. Now what do I do I didn't even buy the gifts yet!! Please help me I would really appreciate it :)

5 gifts! Seems a bit steep and ridiculous. Can't you make her something? Or just tell the truth, she's your best friend, surely you can be open and honest without having to fear losing a friendship.

If you can't discuss this with your best friend that person is not your best friend.

You lied. Admit you lied. Admit that you didn't and probably can't buy the gifts.

Then it's her decision what to do next.
