    Can a lien be placed on a home with a mortgage?
    Can a lien be put on a home after a law suit has taken place and there is a judgement against one of the spouses?

    Certainly. The lien may be junior to the mortgage, but it would be senior to any second mortgage you might seek to obtain in the future. And it would still have to be satisfied when the property is sold.
