    Oil leak for a 1970 shovelhead harleydavidson motorcycle
    I have a 1970 shovelhead I was wondering why the oil is backing up into the oil tank

    If the oil is actually backing up as stated then there is a restriction somewhere. That is the only way to pump oil out from its natural pattern / path.
