    How do I Establish a 501C3
    Hello,
    I am a widower and would like to file a 501C3 on behalf of my belated husband. I want to create The Harrah Scholarship Foundation was to support Vetz kids. Wil you please give me some suggestion? Your assistance would be greatly appreciate.

    Hello H:

    You're probably going to need the guidance of a good attorney.. He can set it up, and tell you how to run it.

    You would set up a state non profit corporation, then the corporation files a 501c3 application with the IRS. Once ( or if) it is approved they will send you a letter of notification

    You don't create a foundation on behalf of your late husband. You can create one in his memory.

    I would consult an attorney to get things setup properly.

    If you are a widower, that would make you a guy. If so, how did you have a husband, belated or not?
