6 years ago my mother passed away. Prior to her passing my younger brother was living with her, he moved in quite a few years before because he had no where else to go. Previous girlfriend kicked him out. Her played in a band and didn't do much for my mother until her later years in life and at that time his health wasn't very good. My mother paid for the hydro, gave him money for food. He paid the phone. I went down to bath her and clean the house, he wasn't much of a house keeper. My mother had a will made after our father died in 75. The house was left to me but my younger brother would be allowed to live there until he died. Any monies were to be divided among the remaining 5 siblings. About 10 years ago my bother approached my mother & I about her will. He didn't like, he wanted the house and he told my mother that he had told her that shortly after my father had died. A couple of years before my mother passed away he was able to have her will changed, leaving the property to him and most of the money. At this time my mother was starting with mild dementia. We found out about the will and spoke to our younger brother. We were not pleased with what he had done and felt it was not fair. We produced and document that stated he could have the house but if it was sold or if he passed away the proceeds from the sale would be divide: 35% to him and 65% between the remaining 4 siblings. He agreed to this and legal documents were drawn up by a notary and all signed. Now, after 6 years of my mother's death he has approached me saying he now feels that is not fair. He says he has paid a lot in taxes and would like to do some renovations on the house. I said we all pay taxes!! He wants it changed to 50% to him and 50% to the remaining 4 siblings. He has done nothing to upgrade the house in 6 years and I don't think he ever will. Does he have any grounds to have this legal document changed now?

Not that I can see.. But, I wouldn't worry. He can TALK all he wants, but he can't DO anything about it. Oh, he could hire a lawyer and sue you guys to FORCE you to change the agreement, but it would cost a LOT of money to do that, and he wouldn't win anyway.
