My brother died in the house we live in now,since his death,we have always heard or felt different things,a hand on our shoulders or footsteps in the hall,but it wa always a comfort,we felt it was him,that has been going on since his death 9 years ago,a little over a year ago,things of a more frightening manner have started occurring,things are punching us in our arm and legs,feeling things bite,scratch or pinch us,sometimes pushes us,foul odors and certain times,the sound of children laughing or voices talking,shadows move around the house,the feeling of being held down,and my mom has felt something hold her down and then had the feeling she had just been sexually assaulted,there are really too many things to mention,I just don't understand what may be here,I don't feel its anything good,as in my brothers spirit,could it be demonic activity,what should I do,I am 42 years old and know what I feel,see and hear,any advise would be appreciated,thank you.

These manifestations are a lot more common than you think, even the sexual assaults. Yes, to cut right to the chase these activities are from demonic spirits. It's probably the same spirit which was masquerading as your brother's spirit. Most people will not be able to tell you why now all of a sudden these things are happening the way they are, but the fact is that they are.

Your brother wasn't into any alternative religions was he? Any involvement into the occult? Was there ever a time after his passing that someone tried to contact him in the afterlife? Odd questions I know, but stuff like this might shed light onto why something is in your home to begin with.

I think we all know at this point that life isn't always fair... and why some people have to deal with demonic assaults and others never do is just one of those thing we may deal with in our lives. But here you are, having spiritual manifestations in your home. My advice is this... you really have three options. You can move, with no guarantees it won't follow you. You can stay there and put up with it. You can learn to stand against it and have it removed from you lives. Of course the third option sounds the best, however that one comes with the possibility of life changing decisions being made. Unfortunately it sounds like you're in a tough spot.
