I am looking for fun, upbeat, humorous, movies that Alzheimer's residents will enjoy
My residents have short attention span, so movies that don't have a complicated plot, but have a lot of cute animals(but are not babyish--this will insult my residents), funny slap stick antics, or romance in the traditional sense(a man courting a woman, not rolling around in bed with her) are best. No death, scary figures, violence.

Your best bet is to go to your public library, look at their DVD collection, and talk with the reference department in order to get a copy of their review sources and their suggestions of movies.

Shrek I, Up, Ice Age, Grease, Incredible Journey, Home Alone, Elf, Antz, and some of the Disney movies would be good possibilities.

An adult movie I love that has a simple and very pleasant plot is Local Hero.
You could show compilations of Lassie and Mr Ed and other TV shows featuring animals.
Who knows, they might have long term memory for all the old shows like Mayberry RFD and I Love Lucy!

Have you tried some of the old classic movies, even the laurel and hardy movies were not to bad.
