Is my friend crazy? How do I help them?
Hello my exgirlfriend and I are on very good terms. We would class each other as friends and she tells me all her feelings and problems and she seems to have to many and I worry she will destroy herself.where do I begin? Her nan died in January this year and since then she became a different person. She ran away from work to sit at her grave for hours on end. She left the love of her life for a no good scumbag, she has fallen out with most of her family. She has no job at the moment and she makes her self sick after eating. She tells me she feels trapped in her house and that because both her brother and sister have left home that she feels left behind and pressured to move out by her mum. She also would have been having a baby this month but is not due to problems. I simply cannon leave her I need to help her I don't know what to do she keeps saying she is crazy but is scared to go to the doctors because she does not want to be labeled by them. Please help

The best thing you can do at this point is to listen to her, reassure her and encourage her to get medical treatment. "Crazy" is a VERY outdated term. She is most likely depressed. There are wonderful medications available which can literally change her life. There may have to be a period of trying different medications until her Doctor finds the correct one but then there will a big change in her life.

If you believe she is in imminent danger of suicide, then you have to speak to a family member or clergy person or someone else oin order to intervene.

She has many reasons to be upset. She is the only one who can sort through what they are and obtain treatment but you can help her get to that point.
