Cartilage piercing problems.
I've had my cartilage and tragus pierced for the past 7 weeks now and I'm experiencing a few problems. I over cleaned my piercings and now my whole ear is really shiny. I've been using sea salts for the past week now and the shine has gone down a little bit but not completely.I really need some advice people! Will the shine eventually go away or is this shine permanent? PLEASE HELP ME :(

This site asked me to join,, I do not wish to,, but to comment on the other question,, the shine is because its swollen and sore,, had my ear cartilage pierced for MANY years now, and it remains sore,, have a lump/hump thing on the back of the ear exit hole,, looks bad (in the back) always red/sore,, can't wear earring all the time,, especially to bed!! Followed all the "cleaning rules",, still sore,, I should have pierced through the outer edge, ear skin instead of through the cartilage,, the shine will go away in time,, but may always be sore,,

Ok so, here's the thing. I got my cartilage (top of my ear) pierced 8 days ago. It was done by a gun, and barely even hurt. All I felt was a little pinch. I was told it would take 10-12 weeks to heal, but my body tends to heal fast. At first, it hurt to touch but after a couple days that went down....
Aight, well I'm gettn my cartilage pierced and I wanting to know tha risks of gettn it done with a gun, and if its better to get it done wit a gun or a needle? And if it hurts?

I got my left cartilage pierced 1 week and 3 days ago, it is still painful and I still cannot sleep on it. They told me to use Antibactieral Hand Soap on it, but I just couldn't, afraid that I wouldn't get it rinsed good enough. I have used alcohol and ear care stuff. I can move the ring around...
