    Side effects of Birth Control.
OK I've been on sprintec for almost two months. Since I started taking it I've gained weight and no matter what I do I can't seem to lose any of it, I'm constantly exhausted, I get headaches more frequently, there are patches of skin that are discolored; they're not painful they don't itch unless I'm looking at them I can't tell they're there. Honestly I know all the positive reasons for taking birth control but I'm not sure how much longer I can take being so exhausted or the headaches.
How long do side effects usually last?
And if so when would be a reasonable enough "trial" period before I talk to my doctor about switching it?

My doctors always told me try it out for three months, but my side effects were never that severe. It was more like annoying break through bleeding.
Call your doctor and see what they say, they know your health and body better than anyone online. They might feel it's best to switch you now.
