    Constant yeast infection
Hi, I have had a yeast infection for years, it's just a white discharge. They got worse during and after I had chemotherapy. I have been prescribed diflucan several times, and it does not work for me. I also have had 2 back surgeries, and have been prescribed lots of medication. Do you think all the meds I have been on could cause this yeast infection? Or possibly a vitamin deficiency could be the problem? I'm afraid of having this infection for a long time, I know it can do damage to you. I don't know, I think I would rather go a natural way of treating this, do you have any suggestions? I go to my gyno. In 2 days, I'm trying to figure out what questions to ask efore I go in there. Thanks, God bless.

First, make sure it is a yeast infection. There are other things which can appear similar, but need different treatment.

If you are sure it is yeast, try starving it. Yeast needs sugar to survive, so cut out all sugar and all foods which turn to sugar. That means that not only are you cutting out cake and biscuits and desserts, you also have to cut bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, fruit and fruit juice, alcohol, even milk for a while.

For about two weeks, you live on eggs, fish, meat, chicken, lots and lots of green veg, olive oil and a bit of natural yogurt.

It's not a fun diet, and the first week or so will feel like death, but it does work. I had thrush deep in my milk ducts, and a two week course of diflucan failed to shift it, but this did.

After two weeks, you can bring back some milk, whole fruit, and a few other vegetables, but you stay off the bread and processed foods.
