Does anyone know how to change the anode on a model with insulation on the top under the cover?

In a lot of cases, the foam , when injected, comes out the hole where the anode rod is located. There may also be a plastic inset cap. Clear the foam and or remove the plastic cap and look for a 1 1/8 hex nut. Changing rods can be a pain with limited space and torque requirements. Good luck.

I did think that may be the case, there are two plugs and both are filled with foam.
I only bought one anode,do some heaters have two.

I've never seen more than 1. Be careful taking the anode out, I've seen people break their pipes off because they had to twist so hard they broke the fittings.
