Our house sewer pipe leading to our septic tank was replaced this past December. It had snapped off clean at the house exit. It was excavated and totally replaced all the way from the inside out, by a plumber. Now that the frost is gone, it leaks around the pipe every time it rains heavy. Otherwise, no leaks. How do we fix this?

- what the sewer pipe is made of
- what the foundation is made of
- whether there is another larger section of pipe around the sewer pipe as it goes through the foundation

Are you saying rain water is leaking into your basement around the seam where the pipe exits the findation? Once its dry just apply a good silicone caulk after wire brushing the area.

The interior waste pipe is PVC.
The house sewer pipe from the house to the septic tank is "green pipe."
Foundation wall is poured concrete.
There is a gray patch (similar to concrete but a little darker) sealing the area around the PVC pipe where it goes the foundation wall.
The PVC and the green pipe are brand new replacements.
This is clean water that leaks in only when it rains - not septic water.
Is there a special procedure to seal this properly?
