RG-6 In Buried Conduit - How Do I Seal The Ends?
When the electrician installed the 200 Amp power lines underground he installed two 1 inch lengths of conduit for cable and whatever else I might want. When the cable guy came without a snake or the ability to blow a string through 25' of conduit, he starting digging before I got home! After I taught him how to blow a string through the conduit, I realized that the conduit wasn't glued to the 90 degree elbow at the bottom. Is this common? Now I am thinking of installing a threaded coupler to the elbow in case of damage or design change. I'm thinking about reducing it to 3/4" and putting a weatherhead on it. Maybe a 1/2" weatherhead, but I can only find those online. Lowe's has the 3/4" PVC Service Entrance Caps. Should I bother or just let the pipe fill with water. Either way I will replace the cable that the cable guy put in with underground cable. Has anybody done this? Will it end up being only cosmetic; then again cosmetic is important too me. My thought is to get the 1/2" weatherhead so that it is small or will the 3/4" be good? I am also going to get rid of the box. All I need is a 3Ghz grounding connecter. Everything else will be inside the attic. I will be rippping off several pounds of cable from the outside of the house. There are telephone wires too LOL! I haven't had a land line in ten years. The house was built in 1952. I also need to keep the snakes out of the conduit. Any advice as to the weather head for the cable?

A 3/4" weatherhead will be sufficient, for cosmetics. Underground conduit will collect water no matter what is done.

The conduit in the ground should have been properly glued at each connection. The installer was lazy and sloppy, unprofessional
