Waiver or exemption on employee Medicare Tax
I am over 65, and I am paying significant dollars monthly for Medicare Part B (Standard 2011 Premium of $115.40/month plus and additional MAGI of $184.50/mo. Since I am still working full time my employer also deducts an additional $180/month for Medicare Tax from me. This is in addition to the $299.90 I am already paying to Medicare Part B.
Should I be paying the Medicare Tax through my employer if I am already 65 and paying for Medicare directly? Is there an opportunity for a waiver process or exemption from the Medicare Tax for my situation?
Thank you in advance for your consideration and advice.

My understanding of this is that you should not be paying directly for Medicare. Why did you start?

The local Fairfax VA SSA office advised me to start.
