Water in kitchen sink spout does not fully turn off when I use sprayer
Just installed a new diverter in my Delta 400 kitchen single handled sink faucet. The sprayer did not work at all. With the new part installed, the sprayer does work fairly well, but the water coming out of the faucet spout does not completely turn off as I'm told it should. What might be wrong? By the way, I did test the shower head on the spray on my two handled faucet downstairs and it works well there, not upstairs... and the faucet water turns off. If I need to replace the sprayer hose, I have a problem... my garbage disposal blocks access to the connection.

Installing the new diverter was very problematic since it took hours of heavy duty prying... it was a different styled all metal diverter. Yet the sprayer does work at least. Much was accomplished at least. How can I get it to work at its optimum with full water pressure?

A lot of diverter problems arise from deposits in the valve body itself. I hate to suggest this but you may have to remove the handle and spout, pull the diverter and make sure the diverter inset hole is clean. You can try a Qtip or toothpick dipped in vinegar to disolve carbonate deposits. Make sure you have good water flow from the hole before putting it back together. Hope this solves your problem!
