    Bleeding at 8 weeks
    I am 8 weeks preganant and have started experiencing some spotting brownish/red in colour and have had some cramping. I have read that this is normal for the first trimester but that this could also mean that I may be miscarrying. Do I need to be concerned at this time?

    Usually spotting, and/or some slight cramping, can be normal. However, anytime you feel concerned, it is worth giving your midwife or doctor a ring.
    Take it easy for a bit and see how it goes. If it becomes bright red, of an increasing amount, or the cramping increases, contact your care provider.
