    Tax refund for five months
    Hi,

I have heard lot of good reviews for this site. I came to US on 25th Aug 06. I also got my W2 last week for 2006. What component would I get back of the tax I have already paid.

Is there any provision to get back all the tax paid since I have stayed less than 5 months in US in year 2006.

If you are single, you file a non-resident alien return for 2006 AND 2007.

Still have to file as a non-resident alien.

Your combined stay in the U.S. for 2006 and 2007 is NOT long enough to qualify you for either filing jointly as resident aliens nor filing as dual-status.
