    Terminating my husband's parental rights.
I live in Texas and have a 2 1/2 month old son. During my pregnancy I panicked not wanting my son to be born out of wedlock and married my ex. He was then and still is in prison for beating his ex wife and the mother of one of his children. I shortly after decided this was all a huge mistake. I have since found a wonderful man who wants to adopt my son. Is there anyway my husband can terminate is parental rights now so that my Boyfriend can adopt my son. I will soon be filing for divorce (when I come up with the money). I just didn't want to wait until the divorce was final. There is no chance of us getting back together I just want my son to have the father he deserves. I would really appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks in advance for any help u can give me!

You are putting the cart before the horse,

    1. you need to get a divorce and custody of the kids

    2. after you are remarried for about a year, then you and new husband can file adoption paper work and have your ex sign over his rights to allow the adoption.

    3. if he will not sign, you can try and use his criminal history to try and take those rights away

Consult an attorney. You will need one to handle the divorce and the adoption. The attorney can tell you how to prepare and what requirements you will need to meet.
