We say that osmotic pressure stops osmosis but doesn't osmosis stop because solutions now have the same concentrations?
If for example you have a container with a semi-permeable membrane filled with 2M solution and this container is placed in pure solvent osmosis stops because solutions eventually have same concentrations not because of a pressure?
Am I mixing it all up or what?

This is different compared to your previous question. There is no liquid height to contend with so the solvent flow will cease when the concentrations become equal.

So you might not have osmotic pressure needed to stop osmosis?

I have always assumed that the bag is limp and that there is therefore no pressure difference across the membrane.
I may be wrong!
