    Electric stove.can get away with 40 amp & 8/3?
Hi there again... can I get away with installing 8/3 and a 40 amp breaker for a new stove? Looks like I messed up at home depot, or maybe they did, and bought 8/3 rather than 6/3, and you know how expensive that is... I'm going to try to return it and blame them, but this was like 3 months ago that I bought it.

Also, is there a limit on the number of junction boxes you can use on a rewire job? I've been using quite a few for my receptacle lines. Thanks!

A 40 amp circuit uses #8 wire. The range should not be more than 32 amps or 7680 watts. If it is more then it needs a 50 amp circuit and a 50 amp breaker with #6 wire.

There is no limit to junction boxes, just need common sense. They more boxes you have means more splices, and more possible loose connections, so be sure to make good tight splices.
