Want to protest peacefully against land mafia's ? Do we need to take permission ?
We are around 120 plot owners having valid documents and Khatha in layout in Nelamangala Taluk, Bangalore rural dist. Our plots have been illegally occupied by a person named Nagesh A. We had a difficult task in filing a complaint in nearest police station on the illegal occupation. The Sub Inspector in the station was not ready to accept our compliant, till we called the Additional SP and escalated the issue.

We felt very helpless during the Six hours wait in police station to file a compliant.
As a follow up we would like to ensure
    1. There is action against the land mafia who can occupy any land illegally.
    2. Ensure police take proactive steps to shield the common man from these land sharks instead of siding with them.

We would like to peacefully protest to bring the issue faced by all the site owners in Bangalore. Could you let us know if we need to provide prior notice to police or any authorities? We expect around 350 to 400 people participating in the protest.

I don't know if a permit is required for a protest gathering in Bangalore.
I'm not sure how many people on this site will be from that area.
It sounds to me like the land shark might be bribing local officials..
Who knows, sometimes they just like to feel important by making you sit and wait.
Also, it's more of a civil matter than a criminal matter, and you might be told that you have to sue.

I would call your local newspaper and ask if they are interested in the story.
They could take pictures of you protesting while on the land you all own. Then you don't need a permit.
I wouldn't be peaceful if someone took my land! I'd have a sledge hammer in one hand and a pitchfork in the other, raised high.

I am wondering - how do you owners use the land, and how is he using the land?

You are correct... most of us are not from same locality. The problem what we are facing is that in week days all the fencings are removed, boundaries are altered. When all the site owners meet at weekends this person (Nagesh A) vanishes.

One of the site owner has started construction of house and he is fearing if the matter goes to court there could be stay order and his house construction will stop for long period till the dispute is settled.Hence we are keeping legal option as last one.

If there is no other option then we will go to court.Going to media was a good suggestion, we will check this out.

If your deeds show latitude and longitude, you need to all hire a surveyor, with not just wood markers. Heavy metal unremovable ones at the corners.
You should all pay for one lawyer too, to make sure that you have clear title to the land.
