2004 6.0L coolant problems

I have 2004 f350 fx4 6.0L under load it has bad coolant smell in cab engine temp runs normal but engine fan runs more than usual pulled cap on coolant bottle and coolant smells burnt is this a bad egr cooler or head gasket?
