Why do I feel this way?
So I've had a lot of repressed stress over the last few months.. but I've still been o.k and coping but when I got my period I didn't have a lot of physical pain just extreme emotional.. depressing over baring emotions that hit me out of nowhere.. I can't but think my hormones are out of whack cause I'm turning 18.. still.. my emotions are driving me crazy and don't know why?

Hormone changes during your cycle, along with the stress, may be the cause. Even though you may feel as though you are coping, the stress can still result in emotional and physical changes.

Obviously, the best thing would be to try and resolve what is causing you to be stressed in the first place.

If it helps, make a list and decide what, if anything, can be done to change some of it. Could some of it be self-imposed stress? For example, knowing there are things you need to be getting done but you have been putting them off. Decide if there are any relationship issues that need to be addressed. Is there stress about school and/or work concerns that you can take action to resolve? Any health concerns you need to monitor and take care of?

If this was just a one time thing with your last period, it may subside as you sort out something's that you can. If you feel it is ongoing, you might want to speak to your doctor.

If you don't already... daily exercise can do wonders for stress relief, and for mild depression, or feeling emotional.

Making sure you are eating well, getting adequate sleep, taking time to have fun with family and friends, doing things that you enjoy, and getting regular exercise can often turn things around because you are helping your body get what you need both physically and emotionally.
