My roommates 2 y/o dog won't stop pooping in the house
My roommate got a 2y/o Huskie/wolf mix from a rescue shelter. He was skidish when we got him but he got over it. Everything was going fine except for the fact that he has never stopped pooping in the house. Its been about a year now and I have a 6month old pup of my own, and she won't poop in the house. but he still does. Always in the same spot right in the middle of the living room. I've tried everything I can think of. I don't hit the dog even though it is getting that frustrating... What should we do about this?!

He is fed twice a day not at any set times due to our work scheduals and we are smokers so the dogs go outside every time we smoke, witch is allot. He goes on walks at least once a day and he chewed out of the last crate(kennel).

I totally agree, crating is your best bet. Sounds like he is suffering from separation anxiety. The best way to comfort the dog is crating.

Oh and you can buy the metal kennel, which are pretty indestructible. You may have to reinforce the lock, but it's a metal cage, I don't know for too many dogs that can chew out of those :)

Sorry but a smoke break is not enough time for a dog to get exercise and a poop. Fed him and then walk him 40 minutes after feeding, walk until the deed is done, smoke all you want.

Where it has been going on for a year it will take some time to train him not to. For a year he has been doing it so now you have to change the year of thinking into only pooping outside. What if you treated him like a 8 week old puppy learning potty training.
So outside after waking up, 30 min after eating and he stays out until he goes. When you are not able to watch him he is in his crate. When he goes outside make a very very very very very big deal of it. When he goes inside don't make a big deal of it.
It may work I am hoping it does.
